Theories Discussion > The stove
Why did they leave
sarapuk:
Again. I wouldnt have thought a stove incident would have caused all the subsequent actions. And it must have been a very extraordinary event to cause the group to abandon their refuge.

And once again I ask the same question. Was the tent scene staged?

You know I'm going to be honest here... I've never really thought of this possibility. It actually is a very valid point.
sarapuk:
But who would want to set up the tent scene ? What would be their purpose ?

THIS IS NOT A JOKE. The reason they fled the tent. The pic below is a rendition I put together of what visited us in 1984 ish..
In the middle of April 1984ish I/we had a vision that I cant account for.
Sorry if this is a bit long winded but its the best way I can describe it. Somerville Vic.
I woke up sometime in the early morning, I suspect roughly just before dawn as the room was very dimly lit, I could make out the outlines of curtains and furniture.
I sat up in bed and at the end our bed was what I can only describe as a greyish - blue cloudy mist approx 5ft high and 3ft wide ie an oval, the mist/cloud was moving horizontally within this oval, very slowly.
In the middle of this mist was a ball of light resembling a disco-ball, perfectly round. The colours of which ranged from whites to grey and shades of light blue and were slowly pulsing in and out.The lights were approx 1" square. I didnt feel surprised or fearful and can remember rubbing each eye thinking something was blurring my vision but it was still there.Although the light was quite bright it didnt appear to light up the room The whole episode lasted about 10-15 seconds if that. Then I just laid back down and fell asleep.
In the morning when I woke I didnt remember anything of what had happened.
However a few days later (I assumed ) before I was leaving for work ,my wife stopped me and said she had seen something strange. As she said that, it all came back to me.I told her not to say anymore as my lift/share for work had arrived and was in a rush but said we'll talk about it when I get home.
As soon as I arrived home I led the wife into the bedroom and gestured about here and she said yes.She had seen whatever it was a few times.
From this time on whenever I told my story (to anyone interested) she shied away from the subject and it was 30 odd years later that she told me she didnt see the ball of light, just the mist and thought she saw a figure moving inside it and scared her, and putting her head under the sheets and saying a few hail-marys (no we are not religious) when she looked up it had disappeared.
]I am open to discussion about the possibility of this happening in the tent. Dont bother with possible explanations for what we saw in our bedroom period.Having probs with adding pics. But two pics one showing white orb and squarish things on the left together with another pic showing in the middle a white orb with white oblong crystals coming out of it could in fact relate to my wife and I's vision, maybe one of the same.
NB If there are any programmers out there that can make a GIF file out of my pic I would appreciate it.

The stove theory and the group having to leave the tent dosnt hold up at all. 1. It had not been assembled and was found still stowed in the corner of the tent. Why - well there's a possibility that some screws or bolts were missing (it didnt come in one piece), it would have come with a piece of asbestos tape/cloth that is used to seal each part that screwed together, if this was missing you would suffer from inhaling toxic gases. 2. I have been in a smoke filled house as a kid 8yr old. Luckily it was just smoke and not fire ,we waited outside while the fire brigade checked the affected rooms for embers it turned out to be a chair and carpet that didnt catch alight. We went back into the house after about 1hr of letting the smoke disperse. 3. If there was a fire/smoke in the tent the group wouldnt slash the tent ,they were not stupid in that sense.
