Title: The question of the missing Cameras and Film
Post by: sarapuk on December 02, 2020, 04:02:22 PM
Although the Inventory shows 4 Cameras, the analysis of the Films suggests that there were at least 6 Cameras. Apparently 3 Cameras were found in the Tent, including the Camera belonging to Dyatlov. The 4th Camera was found on the body of Zolotaryov. So what happened to the other Cameras. Its highly likely that they were taken by some of the Dyatlov Group has they made their way down towards the Forest. So somewhere on that journey or at the Ravine, they went missing, along with Film. So could any of the Dyatlov Group have taken photos in the time between the event at the Tent and the event at the Ravine, of course they could. Photos can be taken in daylight or at night with snow as a background.

Interesting question.  I'd like to hear more about how the analysis of the film suggests 6 or more cameras.

It's hard to determine exactly how many cameras there were beyond mention in the inventory, since in some photo's it seems one hiker will hold another's camera while they are off having their photo taken by someone else, or to take a photo of the camera's owner.

For example in group shots Semyon and Lyuda are shown with cameras around their necks but are not attributed to any daytime photography. And we don't see Igor holding a camera at any time, even when snapped by others.

Elsewhere, though we know they both had cameras, best pals Yuri K and Tibo photographed each other using a camera swap at the same location.

Frame 4 of Yuri's camera film, Film 1, shows him taking a photo of Tibo
