Translation help

Can anyone tell me what is meant by the word KHAN in the quote below: "the young Khan" -- "They interrogated this Khan" ---

Khanti , khanty is a another tribe like the manti.
One of the searchers was a khanti , he signs his name in the case files with the same sign on one of the trees in the photos by the hikers. There were khanti hunting on the lands as well as Mansi.
The khanti searcher was jailed at some point for murder and worked as a prison guard or informant. He is suspected by some. I'm sure I posted this somewhere.

Yes I have read this. As I understood Khan = singular Khanty = plural. No I am not Russian.
