New Years Eve in Vizhay Club 1961

This is the club where Dyatlov group couldn't stay on Jan 25, 1959. From Zinaida Kolmogorova diary: "First we stopped at the same club where we were 2 years ago. Then we were taken to the hotel."

Vizhay 31 Dec, 1961, people went to the club. Bought tickets for the movie in the afternoon.
Children's matinee at 12 pm.
Movie at 3 pm and 5 pm.
Then the club is prepared for the New Year's Eve.
Concert of visiting artists at 7 pm, this year they were from from the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic.
The ball began at 10 pm. In-house little concert. Parade of masks. Humor, games, charades, and dancing all night long.

The annual masked carnival. Awards for the first places were:
1st place - 25 rubles
2nd place - two prizes of 25 rubles each
3rd place - two prizes of 10 rubles
and smaller prizes for the rest.

Kusov and Astahov presented the prizes:
1st place - Cosmos
2nd place - Kremlin

And a good time was had by all.
In spite of dictatorships, repressive governments, "Trumpism," etc., people always know how to have a good time, which is great!

Exactly an year ago I was dreaming of going to Dyatlov Pass and my wish actually came true. I must be doing something right. This coming year I wish and believe that the truth will finally come out one way or another. I have reasons to hold to this statement.

Life will be richer if one is of the later disposition. But, it is not by any miracle that we will learn the truth. The truth comes after decades of tireless research, and I am proud to be its ambassador.

I know this all may sound mysterious and ambiguous, but I am giving you a heads up. I am leaving this token under the Christmas tree. 2020 will be a milestone for the Dyatlov Pass case. Godspeed and don't stop believing!

Lets try NOT to create a 'wide brush' painting environment where political views alienate members of the forum. Im not exactly a Trump supporter, but can see how one could take offence to your comment. Lets be mindful of other members of the forum and respect political views by keeping it out of the discussion please.   thumb1

I agree completely.  That post with the political content should be deleted, as it contravenes the site rules.
