Fascinating rabbit hole!

1953: College sophomore  (good student, musician, athlete) is last seen getting a set of clean sheets to change the ones on his bed which had fallen victim to a college prank.  His room is found with the light on, textbook open on desk, and bed almost made up with clean sheets (pillow case remaining).  Theories include speculations about FBI, hypnosis, amnesia, his psych professor, and much more.  A lot of thorough research carefully compiled at this site:  ronaldtammen.com (http://ronaldtammen.com)

Thanks for this. I like missing persons mysteries and I hadn't heard of this one before. I've read my way through the website and found it really interesting.

However, despite all the very detailed research done by the website owner and her commitment to her subject, it's also a good example of how dedication to a theory regardless of evidence, or its lack, can skew research. The author's lack of self-awareness is quite something, too.
