Look how close they are to the Komi Republic border.. Is this why they camped out in the open?? To be easily found..

But still they were well inside of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

And yeah they were in the middle of the SU, if they wanted to defect it's more practical to hike somewhere close to Finland maybe or on Sakhalin near Japan.

Why meetings take place only on the borders of the states? To my understanding you can also meet someone in the middle of the state, you dont have to go border to meet.

Why make unnecessary assumptions? To me any fact and evidence doesn't need better meeting place or retrieve something. Why not just stick to Occam's razor principle?

Semyon an outsider was with them so I don't think they would go on a clandestine mission to retrieve something.
But maybe they killed Semyon and buried him in the ravine first..... so then it's a staged scene, staged by the Dyatlov Group themselves explode1

Yes, and after killing Semyon they spied Top Secret Missile Tests and tried to defect to the Komi Republic which was secretly western country inside Soviet Union. Eventually KGB was after them all the time and they got caught, KGB killed them by freezing and in the end left wealth of puzzling details to amateur detectives.

How high is it if a snow bank had accumulated along the ravine? 8ft... 22ft... ?

Then the bottom would be even further off the ground.. But, aside from that.. they were walking single file in deep snow.. The first one plunges to his death, then, the next one walks up and falls to their death, and then the 3rd and then the 4th..like lemmings Yeah, I dont think so Besides a foot planted in deep snow would anchor you.. you would just fall flat on your face where you stand.

On the slope a long ways away they were... the tracks disappeared long before the treeline. How do you know this? Variables with layers of assumptions.

Your dismissing falling into the ravine based on them walking single file 3/4 away from the ravine. How do you know they were not walking parallel following the ravine NW heading when the edge broke out from under their feet?

On the Rav 4 there isnt anything significant,, Like a broken leg,, fractured pelvis, broken ankle etc..

I wish one day I could say ok, I am done with this case, but it's way too intriguing to ever hope to be able to do that.
