Carbon monoxide posoning

<< < (9/9)

Topaze:
Aside from the fact that the stove hadn't been installed (or at least hadn't been assembled), the carbon monoxide story doesn't make sense, since you wouldn't run away at 1,500 meters to escape it—and certainly not half-naked. A burning stove emits carbon monoxide when the draft is poor, which, judging by the pipe, doesn't seem to be the case.

It should be added that most people who die from carbon monoxide poisoning are poisoned while they are asleep and therefore do not wake up to escape.

The real danger of the stove is the sparks and burns it can cause, and that is undoubtedly why most of the group members hated it so much.
