On June 1, 1958, Charles de Gaulle, having come to power as Chairman of the Council of Ministers, gives an unusual order to eliminate Adolf Hitler. According to French intelligence, Stalin saved Hitler's life for the secrets of the Third Reich, which he slowly passed on to the Soviet government. According to intelligence, Hitler was kept in the Northern Urals, in a bunker near Mount Otorten, and was well guarded.
The liquidation order is received by French intelligence agents, the parents of Nicholas Thibault-Brignolles. Nikolai's parents, being double agents, immediately inform the KGB of the USSR. An operation to "eliminate Hitler" is being developed by the State Security Committee itself.
Hitler is transported and hidden elsewhere. Several tourist groups are sent to the Northern Urals, one of which introduces Nikolai Thibaut and KGB officer Zolotarev. Planned fictitious assassination of Hitler by Nicholas Thibault and a secret message to the French government about the success of the operation.
The group does not suspect anything, but another participant has been recruited by the State Security Committee and knows about the operation. The group is met at the 41st quarter by Nikolai Ognev, a KGB officer who helps with information and monitors the safety of tourists.
Unexpectedly for everyone, the group dies in full force, unable to cope with the elemental force of nature in the harsh Northern Urals.
From the beginning, an unusually large-scale search begins. Then a chaotic investigation and a partial seizure of the case materials.
The State Security Committee decides to kill two birds with one stone. They start rumors about fallen rockets and fireballs, publishing about it in local newspapers. The first purpose of these rumors is misinformation about the causes of death of the French agent Nicholas Thibaut for the French government. The second reason is disinformation for the United States, which simply dreamed of determining the location of the USSR missile bases.
A limited number of KGB officers knew about this operation. One of them is the geologist Raisa Zaitseva.

Simultaneously with Thibaut, the order to eliminate Hitler was received by French intelligence agent Georgy Grigoryevich Kitaev, head of the Ufaley party, located in the village of Slyudorudnik. In the autumn of 1958, Georgy Grigorievich was arrested by the KGB (State Security Committee of the CCCP) and deported from Kyshtym to an unknown destination. After recruitment, Georgy Grigoryevich Kitaev finds himself in the Northern Urals as part of the Mid-Ural Expedition No. 101.
At the time of the special operation, he was already the head of the Tolyinsky geological exploration party.
In the 60s in France they began to be interested in the fate of Georgy Kitaev. After a request from the French authorities, Kitaev was urgently returned to Sverdlovsk, given a job and an apartment. In Sverdlovsk, Kitaev worked as an apparatchik at a plastics factory.
...

Questionnaire of G.G. Kitaev
Born in Yekaterinburg on September 23, 1915 in the family of a hereditary Ural miner Grigory Georgievich Kitaev. In 1930 in Kyshtym, where his father worked at that time, Georgy graduated from the seven-year FZO school (factory training). At the end of the school of factory training, Georgy Kitaev received the profession of a moulder. From 1932 to 1936 he studied at the Alapaevsky Geological and Hydro-Geodesic College. From 1936 - 1937 he worked in UFAN (Ural branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences) as a geotechnical technician for tungsten and gold. From 1937 to 1940 he served in the Far East as a staff car driver in the 7th Bomber Assault Regiment. In 1939 he participated in the battles of Khalkhin Gol. In 1940, after returning to Sverdlovsk, Kitaev worked as a physical education instructor in the Builder of the East sports society.
In 1941, a month before the start of the Great Patriotic War, Kitaev was re-conscripted into the army. The war caught him on his way to Velikiye Luki, at the Kunya station. He served as a liaison for the headquarters of the 317th separate linear battalion of the 22nd Army.
In one of the fierce battles in July 1942, part of them was surrounded. After long battles and wanderings, the fighters and commanders were left without ammunition and food. Then it was decided to break through to their small groups, one of which was headed by Georgy Kitaev. Some of the fighters broke through, but George himself failed - he was captured.
Fate threw a soldier from one concentration camp to another. But, neither hunger, nor exhausting labor, nor the bullying of the Nazis broke the will of the patriot.
In 1943, Kitaev ended up in France on the Atlantic coast, in the city of Landerno. Together with other prisoners of war - Russians, Poles, Czechs, French - he was sent to construction work. Here he met a French girl, Augustine Treger, who in the camp helped the prisoners in mastering the French language. George managed to contact the partisans. From that moment began his participation in the French Resistance movement. Soon, ammunition began to disappear from the fascist warehouse, they were hidden in empty barrels in which the father of Augustine Treger carried water for the camp canteen.
In June 1944, a mass escape was prepared. When a large column of prisoners was being driven to another camp, at Kitaev's signal, they attacked the guards, killed them, and captured the convoy with weapons and food. More than two hundred people brought Kitaev to the partisan detachment and fought in France before the Victory.
For courage and selflessness in the battles during the liberation of the cities of Pospader, Lanildu, Arzhentan, Lanrivoire, Portsal, Pointe de Garchin, Georgy Kitaev was awarded the Combat Cross with a silver star and other orders and medals of France.
After returning to his homeland, Kitaev was accused of treason and sent to a forced labor camp for 5 years in Kolyma. He was rehabilitated in 1956. After his release, he developed the deposits of the Kyshtym piezoquartz.
After his retirement, he returned to Kyshtym. In 1983, he became the champion of the Chelyabinsk region among sports veterans. He had the title and sign "Veteran of Sports of the RSFSR".
He died on May 25, 1997 in Kyshtym. He was buried at the cemetery in Kyshtym.

The subordinate of G.G. Kitaev, radio operator Vladimir Lyubimov, was also recruited by the KGB and actively participated in the scheme of spreading rumors about the KGB investigation of the incident with the fallen rocket. Even after many years, the disinformation was actively fed according to the instructions.
Here are the memoirs of radio operator Lyubimov:

In 1933, the German engineer W. von Wern patented his version of the underground boat. The invention was classified and sent to the archive. In 1940, Vern's project caught the eye of Count Claus von Stauffenberg, who informed the Wehrmacht leadership about it. At this time, Germany was preparing to invade Great Britain (Operation Sea Lion), and the underground boats moving under the English Channel would have come in handy for sabotage operations. Von Verne was given funds to implement his project. Vern's underground boat was supposed to carry five people, a warhead of 300 kg and move underground at a speed of 7 km / h. However, the project stalled at the stage of drawings and laboratory experiments, and Luftwaffe chief Hermann Goering convinced Hitler of the futility of the underground boat; Germany relied on air warfare, and the von Wern project was closed.
After the Second World War, the projects of German underground boats fell into the hands of Soviet specialists, which gave impetus to further developments. USSR Minister of State Security Abakumov demanded from the USSR Academy of Sciences to create a group of scientists to study the possibility of designing an underground boat. According to some reports, Academician A.D. Sakharov was involved in the development of the project. The problem of supplying an underground boat with energy was taken up by the Leningrad professor G. I. Babat, who proposed using microwave radiation for this purpose. Professor G. N. Pokrovsky and academician A. D. Sakharov developed more efficient and faster ways of moving in rocks. GI Pokrovsky carried out calculations and proved the theoretical possibility of cavitation in rocks. In his opinion, bubbles of gas or steam can effectively destroy rocks. According to Academician A. D. Sakharov, under certain conditions, an underground boat will move in a cloud of hot particles, which will give a speed of movement of tens or even hundreds of kilometers per hour. Trebelev's earlier developments also came in handy.
Khrushchev became interested in the project of an underground boat, who liked the idea of getting the imperialists out of the ground. The first test was successful: the underground boat passed through the mountain at walking speed. During the second test, the underground boat exploded for unknown reasons and, together with the crew, remained in the thickness of the rocks. The “battle mole” was equipped with a nuclear engine and had the following parameters: speed 7 km / h, length 35 m, crew 5 people, landing force 15 people. and 1 ton of explosives. In addition to the destruction of underground bunkers and missile silos of the enemy, the task of the underground boat was to covertly penetrate California and lay nuclear charges under strategic objects. It was assumed that the actions of the "Battle Mole" would be mistaken for the results of an earthquake. According to publications in the newspaper "Tagilka" dated 05/07/2009 and in "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" dated 06/04/2015, tests of an experimental underground boat with a nuclear reactor took place in Mount Blagodat (Ural Mountains) near Nizhny Tagil. During the tests, the entire crew of the boat died due to the explosion, and the boat remained immured in the rock mass. After this incident, the tests were stopped, the fate of the nuclear reactor of the boat remained unknown. "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" clarifies that the boat, along with the crew, "evaporated" as a result of a nuclear explosion, and all documentary evidence was destroyed.
There is every reason to believe that the tests of the "Fighting Mole" took place in the GUKH massif: Mount Yaruta - Mount Otorten - Mount Holatchakhl. It was there that Hitler's bunker was located, created by the "Battle Mole" machine, and there another underground nuclear explosion took place, which eliminated this bunker.

Research by Nick Bellantoni.
A skull fragment thought to have been attributed to Hitler for decades has turned out to be part of a woman's remains.
For a long time, historians considered this fragment to be evidence that on April 30, 1945, the Fuhrer, realizing the end of the Third Reich, took cyanide from an ampoule he had and shot himself in the head. In the same place, in the bunker, his girlfriend Eva Braun also committed suicide.
According to a number of accounts, their bodies were wrapped in blankets and carried out of the bunker into a nearby garden, where they were doused with gasoline and set on fire, after which they were buried. In May 1945, Soviet intelligence officers excavated the site of the alleged burial and found bones, which were considered to be the remains of Hitler.
Part of the skull was missing, suggesting death from a bullet wound. And the surviving fragment of the jaw corresponded to the "dental charts" found by Hitler's personal dentist. A year later, the missing fragment of the skull was found on behalf of Stalin, who continued to suspect that the enemy managed to escape and hide.
In the mid-1950s, after the leader's death, a skeleton thought to be Hitler's remains was interred in Magdeburg, East Germany. In 1970, the KGB dug it up, cremated it and secretly poured the ashes into the river.
Only the jawbone, a fragment of a skull pierced by a bullet, and pieces of sofa upholstery stained with blood, which were sent for storage to the archives of the State Security Committee, were preserved.
The study of the bone fragment was carried out by American specialists. "We are confident that the skull belonged to a woman between the ages of 20 and 40," says University of Connecticut archaeologist Nick Bellantoni.
According to him, the bone was very thin - thinner than normal male bones. In addition, the places of articulation of the cranial bones, according to a number of signs, indicate that the person to whom this skull belongs was not older than forty years. Hitler was 56 in 1945.
Bellantoni believes that the bone fragment he studied could not have belonged to Eva Braun, although she died at the age of 33. "There is no evidence that Brown was shot or shot herself," says the scientist. "Many people died in and around the bunker, so these remains could belong to anyone."
Nick Bellantoni received samples of bone tissue allegedly belonging to Hitler in Moscow, where the fragment of the skull was kept in the state archives and even exhibited in 2000 at an exhibition.
The American was also shown the blood-soaked upholstery from the sofa that stood in the bunker and served, as it was believed until now, as the deathbed of the Fuhrer and his girlfriend.
“I had original photographs that Soviet historians took in 1945, and I compared fragments of the sofa upholstery with them. Everything turned out to be genuine. I worked with a real thing,” says an American archaeologist, based on whose research a documentary film will be made in the United States "Saving Hitler"
Bellantoni was allowed to spend only an hour in the archive, during which the scientist managed to take samples for DNA analysis, which he immediately sent to Connecticut. The lab at the University of Applied Genetics, led by Linda Strausbog, put all other work on hold for three days to work on the "Hitler Project."
"We used the same research methods and technologies that are usually used in criminological examination," explains Strausbog. To her great surprise, they still managed to get a small amount of a substance with "viable DNA" from the bone fragments.
“We were very lucky,” says the researcher. “With the help of molecular copying, we provided ourselves with a sufficient amount of material for analysis. Although the amount of genetic information was limited, we were still able to decipher something. And so we learned that the skull belonged to a woman.”
The story of the death of the Nazi leader is still shrouded in mystery. Some scholars initially doubted that he shot himself, and considered this version a product of Nazi propaganda, trying to make a hero out of the Fuhrer.
The fact that a fragment of Hitler's jaw should be examined for DNA was one of the first to be noticed by Abel Basti, a well-known Argentine documentary writer.
“Specialists had only the opportunity to compare this charred jaw with X-rays of that era, which were of terrible quality, and with the testimony of Hitler’s personal dentist, and he could say anything,” explains Basti. “You should compare DNA samples that can be obtained from the remains of Hitler's sister Paula, who died in 1960 and was buried in the Bergfriedhof cemetery.

The history of the appearance of the "Battle Mole" in the Sverdlovsk region.

In the early 1930s, the Soviet Union became seriously interested in subterrins. The designer and engineer Alexander Trebelev, who was assisted by several other specialists, created an underground boat. Unfortunately, the first pancake came out lumpy, although Trebelev approached the matter as responsibly as possible. After carefully analyzing the various options for moving underground, he came to the conclusion that the “replica” would be best suited ... a mole. This conclusion was made after studying the biomechanics of the movement of the animal during the creation of holes. The path and actions of the mole are observed by the designers with their own eyes, placing it with a special box with earth. And then, based on the information received, the designers set to work. As a result, Trebelev got a capsule that resembled a mole in its structure. The underground boat moved with the help of a whole arsenal of various devices: a drill, an auger and two pairs of jacks. Just the jacks played an important role - they pushed the ground back, freeing up space for the capsule for further movement.
...
===

Interestingly, the mechanical "mole" could be controlled in two ways. First, from the inside. In a special compartment was a person responsible for movement and maneuvers. Secondly, from the surface with a cable. According to him, the machine also received the necessary power supply. The speed of the Trebelev capsule was quite modest - about 10 meters per hour.
...

The created sample began to be tested. And already in the first stage of the tests, numerous problems were identified. Most of the trouble was delivered by mechanisms designed for drilling the earth. They constantly failed, and their repair required a lot of time and money. In general, the reliability of the underground boat did not inspire confidence. And according to one version, after several tests that ended in breakdowns, it was decided to abandon the Trebelev capsule. True, there is a second version. If you believe her, then they tried to bring the "mole" to mind either in the late 30s or early 40s. And it seems like the future People's Commissar for Armaments of the USSR, Dmitry Fedorovich Ustinov, took work on the subterrane under his control. And he ordered the designer Strakhov to improve the underground boat, equipping it with everything necessary for military use. The main condition is to eliminate the power cable, which literally tied the car to a certain place and made it vulnerable. Strakhov coped with the task. He created a prototype that can work offline for several days. By driving the car, the driver received for this time the necessary supplies of oxygen, food and water, and the underground boat was supplied with the required amount of fuel. But the war began and all work was stopped. What happened to the prototype subterrine is unknown.

In parallel with the Soviet Union, the Germans were also working on the underground boat. Designer von Wern (or von Werner) patented his design, which he called "Subterrine". It was assumed that his offspring, unlike the Soviet one, would be able to move not only underground, but also under water. Von Vern, thanks to the calculation, even named the speed of the boat - about 7 km / h. It is clear that the speed could vary depending on various conditions. The subterrin could theoretically hold five people and about three hundred kilograms of explosives.
...

Von Wern's project was seriously interested at the top. It was already the Second World War and the Germans turned their attention to impregnable Great Britain. This is where an underground boat could come in handy, which fit perfectly into the concept of the Sea Lion plan. According to the original plan, the task of Subterrine was to quietly get to England and "emerge" behind enemy lines. In this case, the morale of the British would be a serious blow. But things did not go beyond the project. Goering put a cross on him. He felt that Subterrine would take too long to produce and would be prohibitively expensive. So he decided to make do with the air force alone. But still the Germans returned to the idea of underground boats. And it happened pretty soon. Designer Ritter presented a project called "Midgard Schlange". According to the creator's plan, the Midgard Serpent could also move both under water and underground. Preliminary calculations showed that the subterrine could move underground at a speed of 2 to 10 km/h, underwater - from 3 km/h. The “Serpent” could develop the highest speed on the surface of the earth - about 30 km / h. But the most important thing is not this, but the size of the "reptile". Ritter dreamed of creating not just an underground boat, but a full-fledged train, which consisted of wagons equipped with caterpillars. At the same time, the number of wagons (it was assumed that the length of each would be about 6 meters) could be varied depending on the tasks facing the Serpent. And its maximum length could be 500 meters, and its weight exceeded 60 thousand tons! From earth-crushing equipment, Midgard Schlange received four main drills of one and a half meters each and three auxiliary drills, whose size was slightly smaller. All this "good" had to be controlled with the help of more than two dozen rudders. It was assumed that about thirty people could be accommodated in the underground train. Since the "Snake" was conceived as a combat vehicle, it should have received impressive weapons. Ritter considered that his offspring would need coaxial machine guns, special "underground" torpedoes, as well as mines, whose account went into the thousands. As for the use of the "Snake", at first they wanted to send it to Belgium and France. But the "Snake" was not destined to be born. Work on turning the drawings into a combat vehicle was stopped. There was a turning point in the war and the Germans were not up to the mythical "reptiles". There is evidence that in Koenigsberg, Soviet soldiers stumbled upon adits and the remains of an unknown vehicle. Perhaps this was the formidable "Midgard Schlange".
"War Mole"
The Great Patriotic War is over. The Soviet Union recovered from its consequences and managed to make a breakthrough in the space direction. And in parallel with the development of distant stars, active work was underway to develop the bowels of the earth. German drawings of subterrins, discovered in Koenigsberg after the capture of the city, also came in handy. There is no information in the public domain about the tests of an underground boat in those years, the late fifties. How successfully things progressed and whether there were victims is unknown, the information is classified. A qualitative leap occurred only in the early 60s. A special group worked on the underground boat, which included the best designers and engineers. According to unconfirmed reports, Academician Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov was also involved.
The production of subterrins was established in Ukraine, not far from the village of Gromovka.
...

An underground boat called the Battle Mole appeared in 1964. It was very different from previous projects, both Soviet and German. What exactly was the "Mole" is not exactly known. According to unofficial data, it was a cylindrical machine, 3 to 4 meters in diameter and 25 to 35 meters wide. And its "heart" was a nuclear reactor. The subterrin had to break through the rock with the help of a huge drill (there is no information about its size). The speed of movement varied greatly depending on the conditions. But the average was about 10 km / h. In addition to the five crew members, the Mole could carry another 15 soldiers and about a ton of explosives. It was assumed that the underground boat would successfully destroy bunkers, rocket launchers, and all kinds of fortifications. And Khrushchev, who took the project under his wing, had his own interest. At that time, relations with the United States escalated, an armed conflict was brewing. And in this case, Nikita Sergeyevich hoped for subterrins, since they could play an important role in the confrontation between the two powers.
...

There is evidence that the underground boat was tested in the Urals, in the Moscow region and the Rostov region. But the territory near Mount Blagodat, in the Sverdlovsk region, became the main testing ground. Initially, the tests of the "Mole" were successful. But then an emergency happened - a nuclear reactor exploded. The crew died, the underground boat was immured. They didn't pull her out. The project was considered unpromising and abandoned. And all documentation was classified.
Where exactly, in which mountains Mole was tested until 1964, one can only guess. Could it be not in the Sverdlovsk region, but somewhere in the Caucasus or in the Himalayas? Unlikely. The Sverdlovsk region was a leader in the nuclear power industry. Most likely, the specialists of Snezhinsk worked on the Krota nuclear reactor.
But, this is a separate topic, which will be published later.
...

Part Four Homunculus
Why did Stalin need Hitler alive and what secrets of the Third Reich did the "Leader of the Peoples" want to seize?
It is a well-known fact that Stalin supported the project of longevity and possible immortality by all means. Hitler, in turn, spared no effort and money to study "racially full-fledged people" and their search.
...
===
When the new state of the Soviet Union appeared in 1917, the authorities also thought about creating a new person, or a new homunculus. In 1936, the Soviet Union began building the Institute of Immortality, which was planned to be named after the writer Maxim Gorky. After all, it was he who brought the idea of creating an institute to Joseph Stalin, and this topic of the leader was terribly interested.
It all started in Russia back in the 19th century, when in 1890 in St. Petersburg, under the patronage of Prince Oldenburg, the first medical and biological research center in the state was opened - the Imperial Institute of Experimental Medicine (IEM). Here, on Aptekarsky Island, the development of all Russian biology and medicine began, the foundations of the modern concept of these sciences were formed. Ivan Pavlov himself was the honorary director of the institute since 1913. After the October Revolution, the institute became state-owned, its goal was the development of Soviet health care. In 1921, the institute was finally recognized as the country's leading institution in the field of theoretical biology and medicine. Two years later, in 1923, Lev Nikolaevich Fedorov and Alexei Dmitrievich Speransky, both former military doctors, became Pavlov's assistants. And then fate brought them together with Maxim Gorky. Fedorov said about him that in literature the writer seems to be a good realist, but in relation to people he is a romantic. Gorky had a weakness for the idea of literal improvement, renewal of man, he believed that man should both find out the secrets of nature and create new laws of nature, and science should be the main tool in the struggle for immortality. First, Fedorov, and then Speransky, trodden paths to Gorky in order to enlist his support. Speransky, apparently, turned out to be more powerful - then they will talk about him as a demigod in science and that he had incredible, inhuman charisma. And besides, underlined by the common people. Apparently, Speransky once came to the writer's dacha and spoke for a long time about the fact that the future all-Union IEM is the very institution within whose walls Gorky's dreams of a man of a new formation will come true, in other words, a new homunculus, a creature possessing not only wisdom , superintelligence, but also immortality, which is what every person on Earth dreams of. And here's what's interesting: in the press, the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating VIEM was taken and personally attributed to Gorky. He, in turn, allegedly shared it with Stalin, and he even became one of the listeners of lectures on the extraordinary prospects of the new man. Joseph Stalin dreamed of becoming the leader of a state in which disease and old age would be defeated and where people would be forever young. He trusted the scientists, from whom he expected his immortality. So it turned out that, as a result, Stalin ordered that the Gorky Institute of Immortality be included in the master plan for the reconstruction of Moscow.
In 1932, the All-Union Institute of Experimental Medicine began to be created in Leningrad. Leningrad architect Nikolai Lansere, who took part in the competition for its design, won. However, it was decided to build the Institute in Moscow. They wanted to place it in two 22-story towers, and design the House of Congresses by analogy with the Venetian Doge's Palace. The complex was planned to be surrounded by a huge green area. Later, however, they decided to simplify the project - buildings above 11 floors were abandoned. In September 1937, the master plan for the construction of the institute was approved. Not just a new institute was created, but a huge complex of hospitals and laboratories. They intended to conduct research on the victory over disease and old age. It was planned that there would be at least six thousand rooms. Most of them were intended for laboratories. To study the effect of sounds and noises on the body, they wanted to create special chambers, chambers for studying mechanical influences, soundproof chambers for studying conditioned reflexes.
Special requirements were developed for buildings in which chemical experiments would be conducted, and special devices were provided to prevent explosions. It was enough to turn on the switch - and all the windows in all these rooms would immediately open, releasing gas outside. The vestibules between the doors leading to the laboratory would turn into a kind of sluice chambers, like in submarines. Everything was provided for on these 65 hectares: a somatic clinic, a clinic for a healthy and sick child, a psychiatric clinic, artificial climate chambers, a library with 300,000 volumes, premises for a museum and exhibitions, residential buildings for researchers, service industries and much more. According to the writer and human rights activist Lev Razgon, there was something Lysenko-like in the idea of this institute. Although, in his opinion, the organizers of VIEM were not swindlers, simply “their scientific ideas corresponded so much to the aspirations and desires of their superiors that a powerful lifting force carried them rapidly upwards. Almost every week, the Wiemites, in front of Stalin, Gorky and the few other people admitted to this company, developed their thoughts about the extraordinary prospects for controlling the human body.
...

For a long time, the creation of the first homunculus was attributed to Arnaldus de Villanova, who lived in the 13th century. One of the most famous "recipes" for obtaining a homunculus was proposed in the 16th century by Paracelsus. The alchemist believed that the human sperm contained in a special vessel, when heated and some other manipulations (digging into horse manure, “magnetization”, the essence of which is not completely clear) becomes a homunculus. The homunculus was "fed" by adding a small amount of human blood to the flask. According to Paracelsus, the maturation time of the homunculus is 40 days, the growth of the homunculus is 11-12 inches.
According to the ideas of the 17th-18th centuries, the homunculus is initially located in the spermatozoon, and when it enters the mother's body, it transforms into a person; sometimes the sperm itself was identified with the homunculus. Such views are called animalism; one of the adherents of animalism was Leeuwenhoek, the discoverer of spermatozoa. The ideas about the homunculus were reflected in many medieval drawings, usually depicting a homunculus - a small man that enters the mother's body and increases significantly in size.

The Soviet government actively financed and promoted in the media the experiments of the surgeon Sergei Voronov.
From the beginning of the 1920s to the mid-1930s, Ogonyok constantly informed readers about the achievements of the luminary of medical science Sergei (Serge) Voronov. The whole world in those years was fascinated by the pictures of the future that the professor painted: the delay of old age, the eradication of diseases, life up to 140 years, an increase in the period of active maturity by 2-3 times. The noble and rich paid fortunes just to be on his operating table. "Spark" reported on almost every experiment, Voronov himself wrote articles for the magazine.
“In 50 years, and maybe even earlier, it will be possible to perform miraculous operations on people,” Voronov wrote in Ogonyok in 1928 (No. race of mighty people, superhumans!” He was truly obsessed with eugenics, that virtuoso of the scalpel. However, few of the scientists of the turn of the century were not obsessed with it! For example, Voronov's friend and colleague, the surgeon Alexis Carrel, who received the 1912 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for transplanting blood vessels, was even less restrained in his statements, insisting that the mental retardation of the proletariat is inherited, and people are biologically unequal ( for statements about genetic inequality, another Nobel laureate, James Watson, has lost honorary titles these days - Ogonyok wrote about this).
However, the enthusiasm for eugenics at the beginning of the 20th century was explained by the fact that at that time humanity had not yet received the “inoculation of Nazism” and had not gone through the hell of concentration camps in which two Voronov brothers died. In the 1920s, he dreamed: “A world inhabited by powerful people - supermen of both sexes, aged much more than a hundred years old, strong, capable of procreation, vigorous in body and spirit - in a word, people in the full bloom of their strength, which in our time is peculiar to a person only between the ages of thirty and forty. And all this will be done by science, "when it begins to transform a worn out tired human body into a young, strong, tired brain - into a freshly and productively working one, and, what is most striking, - endow the most mediocre nature with the power of genius."
Professor Voronov was not the inventor of xenotransplantology (transplantation of organs and tissues from animals to humans. - "Oh"), but he devoutly believed in it almost from his student days. How the son of an ordinary subbotnik (a Russian subethnos who had professed Judaism since the 17th century—“O”), a retired soldier from Nicholas II, ended up in Paris in 1884 is unknown. Born in 1866, either in Voronezh or in the village of Shekhman, Tambov district, he unexpectedly emerged from historical oblivion immediately under the light of surgical lamps and spotlights, becoming at the age of 23 an assistant to Charles Brown-Séquard himself, one of the greatest physicians of that time . It was from him that the young Samuil Voronov adopted the obsession with the idea of using substances contained in the glands of animals to rejuvenate the human body.
“Spark” revealed to the reader the origins of the Voronov method: “This is the development of the views that 35 years ago were expressed by the French scientist Brown-Sequard, who founded the doctrine of the endocrine glands that release extremely important substances into the blood. Sekar injected himself with an aqueous extract from the testicles of animals and observed a significant increase in strength and general refreshment ”(“ Ogonyok ”No. 36, 1923).
Brown-Sequard died in April 1894. Voronov, who six months earlier received a doctorate in medicine, began to look for a place - he wanted to continue the work of a teacher, which he already considered rightfully his own. A couple of years later, he was invited to the post of surgeon and physician at the court of the Khedive (the title of the head of Egypt until 1914. - "O"). He moved to Cairo, before marrying Louise Marguerite Barbe (the marriage was annulled in 1912). It is possible that it was his wife who played a role in this choice of place of service: Louise was known as an alchemist and a member of the occult circle, where Andre Breton and Pablo Picasso visited. She even became a model for Julien Champagne's famous painting Vessel of a Great Deed, while the artist himself is suspected of a hoax with Fulcanelli, an immortal alchemist who stirred up the occult world of Europe at the beginning of the 20th century. And, as was fashionable at that time among occultists, Voronov's wife studied ancient Egyptian religion and magic.
During the 14 years of his stay in Cairo, Voronov managed a lot: he opened an infectious disease hospital, founded a nursing school and the Egyptian Medical Journal, but most importantly, he became convinced of the correctness of the teacher’s ideas by studying the consequences of castration of eunuchs. Deprived of male glands, they were sick, obese, aged early and died. Voronov began experiments: “I began my experiments, from which I expected proof for my theory, on rams. I transferred the gonads from the young to the old and got satisfactory results, removed the glands and everything came back ”(Spark, No. 12, 1928).
Later, when Voronov was at the zenith of his fame, rumors circulated around Europe that he honed his skills not on herds of sheep, but in the dungeons of Cairo, they say, the Khedive, interested in the experiments of the young scientist, ordered that criminals sentenced to death be given to him. The professor himself claimed that he sees the future precisely in xenotransplantation, because animals do not suffer from alcoholism and syphilis, and the use of human biomaterial is unethical and in many cases illegal even with the consent of the donor.
In 1912, Voronov, who by that time had received French citizenship and changed his name to Serge, performed his first operation on a person, successfully transplanting the thyroid gland of a chimpanzee into that man.
A year later, in the presence of 19 doctors, he consolidated the result - he "grafted" the right lobe of the goiter of a baboon to a 14-year-old boy with developmental delay. A photo of the boy before and after the operation was attached: the obvious changes in the face of the patient left no doubt that a new luminary had appeared in the world of science. By the way, the young man with the “grafting” of the baboon quickly recovered after the operation: he caught up with his peers, received an education and was even declared fit for military service - in 1917 he went to the front.
“Rejuvenation of the human body by transplanting into it the gonads of certain lower animals opens up many new prospects for the benefit of mankind. In the near future, a teenager with weak abilities - whether due to poor heredity, or due to poor conditions, or due to some other random circumstances - will turn into a brilliant, successful student with the help of gland transplantation, ”Voronov shared his thoughts with the readers of Ogonyok . And he brought his plans to life "here and now" - he put the operations on stream ...
“A rare case of extremely rapid rejuvenation after the transplantation of the gonad of a baboon by Professor Voronov on February 1, 1921. The operated E.L., 74 years old, after 8 months became 15–20 years younger, freely climbed the stairs, jumping over 4 steps, lifting weights, fenced and received all the abilities and instincts of a young man. For the entire time after the operation, E.L. I felt an unparalleled influx of strength ”(“ Ogonyok No. 16 for 1924).
The professor dubbed his method "grafting": he made thin sections on the testicles of a monkey and then sewed them into the human scrotum. Voronov was not the only one who experimented in this direction at that time. For example, the Austrian Eigen Steinach was engaged in gland transplantation, and from person to person, for which he used cryptorchid testicles (testicles that did not descend into the scrotum and are to be removed. - "O"). In addition, “Steinakh invented the ligation of the seminal duct - the canal leading from the testicle. He argued that in this case, the seminal fluid stagnates in the testicle and causes the tissue to release more of the healing secret into the blood" ("Spark" No. 36, 1923).
How many doctors, so many methods: "Doctor Gregory in Vologda transplanted an old man's testicle from the corpse of a young man and received engraftment of the gland and rejuvenation of the body," and at the Soviet Institute of Experimental Biology I.G. Kogan made "more than a hundred transplants in chickens and guinea pigs", while old chickens not only regain health, but they begin to lay again.
But all these doctors could not keep up with Voronov in terms of the number of operations performed. Delegates of surgical congresses in London and Paris in the mid-1920s gave him a standing ovation: Sergei Abramovich, in his own words, at that time operated on 238 people aged 55 to 70 years, in 90 cases out of 100 the result was positive. And the world saw salvation from old age in that, and Ogonyok continued to report on the new achievements of the genius ...
“At a conference of physiologists in Stockholm, Professor Voronov announced the experiment he had done - he transplanted four female ovaries into a monkey, three of which resolved and disappeared, and one took root, he injected her with male semen and after three months the monkey turned out to be pregnant, and the doctor expects in six months the appearance into the light of a human child” (“Spark” No. 39, 1926). After another three issues, they returned to the topic: "The monkey will only walk with a human fetus for a short time, and then an abortion will be performed." Voronov explained to the media that a chimpanzee, due to its height and structure, is not capable of producing a human child. It is worth recalling: in the USSR at the same time, Professor Ilya Ivanov, in the Askania-Nova reserve, was also trying to get a hybrid of a man and a monkey. To no avail.
To meet the growing demand for surgeries, Voronov needed primate donors. At this time, the French government introduced a ban on the extermination of monkeys for hunting and profit. The right to catch was given only to scientists, among whom was Voronov ...
“I was lucky to find just what is needed for this,” he wrote in Ogonyok, “a wonderful palace that once belonged to the sovereign Prince of Monaco, and then served as the summer residence of Queen Victoria’s life physician. It is located just on the border of France and Italy, high above Menton, in a huge magnificent park that stretches along the slope to the south to the sea. At present, I have set up a farm there, where I have settled about 30 monkeys, and in a year, I hope there will be 100 of them.
In 1927, Voronov declared that "soon there will be as many monkey nurseries in Europe and America as there are Ford factories."
The excitement was everywhere. Irving Berlin's "Monkey-Doodle-Doo" hit, created by Irving Berlin for the Marx Brothers film "Coconuts," was played on the radio, with the lines: "If you're too old to dance, get yourself a monkey gland." In wealthy homes, it was considered chic to keep an ashtray in the shape of a monkey on the table, covering the genitals and with the inscription: “Voronov, you won’t take me.” Arthur Conan Doyle described the rejuvenation and brutality of the protagonist as a result of hormonal injections in the story "The Man on All Fours". A hit of bars and restaurants was the Iron Monkey cocktail: a mixture of gin, orange juice and grenadine with a small amount of anise liqueur. World has gone mad...
Among those who sought to befriend the famous surgeon were hundreds of celebrities of the time. From the Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh (who effectively used a Rolls Royce car to collect garbage after the car company refused to sell him another model) to Turkish President Mustafa Atatürk (he became a doctor’s patient, like French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau). Voronov was seen in the company of the poet and playwright, as well as the ideologist of fascism Gabriel D'Annunzio and the movie star Sarah Bernhardt. Composer and pianist Camille Saint-Saens met with Voronov more than once, as did the science fiction writer Rosny (pseudonym of Joseph Henri Honore Box). Among the professor's friends were the father of neurosurgery Harvey Cushing and the Romanian king Carol II. Even the famous revolutionary Clara Zetkin was a patient of Voronov. The teacher of Helena Blavatsky, the occult leader of Algeria and Paris, Max Theon, had a strong influence on Voronov himself, as did the author of The Blue Bird, Maurice Maeterlinck - they were friends with the professor. The monkey nursery, like a zoo, was often visited by the megastar of the 20s opera diva Lily Pons ...

Sir Ziljoe, this is the sci-fi version. I will also add my authoring skills here later. It won't be so scary, but it will be very beautiful...

I read every word of your OP (original post) and your first two replies.  I was waiting for the punch-line.

Now, I have merely skimmed your replies #3 and #5...

...But now, I wonder...  Is this an exercise in creative writing?...A parody or satire, perhaps? Or, is it maybe a series of troll posts?  Surely, you don't believe that what you write is true, yes?

I read every word of your OP (original post) and your first two replies.  I was waiting for the punch-line.

Now, I have merely skimmed your replies #3 and #5...

...But now, I wonder...  Is this an exercise in creative writing?...A parody or satire, perhaps? Or, is it maybe a series of troll posts?  Surely, you don't believe that what you write is true, yes?

He was restricted in freedom. I will clarify for him.
1) All versions about the death of the Dyatlov group have an element of far-fetchedness and fantasy. All and without exception. What happened in reality, only God knows. If you believe in him, of course.

2) Many authors, including well-known Russian writers - for example, Boris Akunin: tried to look at this story creatively as well. That is artistic abstraction. Creative and artistic abstraction in a good writer is usually half intuition. And some very original course of the plot - to the other half.

3) That's why this topic was created by this author. As far as I understood his intentions. I told him the story of how I got into the topic of the Dyatlov Pass. It was not easy and began with the ancient Greeks. From that same Alexander the Great, his plans to take over the whole world, for which super weapons were needed. Which was kept in Hyperborea, the ancestral home of present-day Russia. Who cares - it's all easy to Google.

4) The theme of the Dyatlov Pass is a theme for scholars. It does not happen and there is no superfluous knowledge. I don't know who did it and why. But the theme of the Dyatlov Pass is mind games. this cannot be avoided. The main thing is that they be honest.

5) I hope googletranslit does not change the meaning of what I wrote.
Between was and was not - the river of time. You have to be able to swim - not only in the water ...
