Death of Gantz
Axelrod:
Expert Georgy Vladimirovich Gantz (26.XII.1930-6.XI.1978), who screamed in an inhuman voice when he saw Slobodin's or Thibault's skull with a crack, spent the last months of his life in a mental hospital, was depressed. When he was released from the hospital to go home for the 1917 year Revolution holidays, this 47-year-old man hanged himself at home with a rope, on a gas pipe in the kitchen.
Ziljoe:
When was this reported and who wrote it?
Axelrod:
It was retold from here:
GlennM:
It appears that the poor devil was chased by other devils, in his mind. Since I am at a disadvantage here, I assume that he was trying to do something good by helping when the hikers were found. I am not inclined to believe their tragedy was a cause of his. That is too much theater for me, I think.
Ziljoe:
It would seem to be emotive language used to draw the reader in by the author.
There is no need to say "screamed in an inhuman voice when he saw Slobodin's or Thibault's skull with a crack".
It is not a thing when doing an autopsy you report the findings . It is artistic licence. The crack in the skull is not very large and at the moment of time of discovery, it could have been in transit of the bodies for all those that are doing the autopsy. An experienced person just records what is found , no one screams , there is no need to to scream or add the context of inhuman voice to try and validate the injury found. It is sensational journalism, nothing else.
