Yes, Zina is the main character. Ivanov knew why he had marked the unknown diary with her name, even though it didn't belong to her.

It would be really useful if you could share it's significance . I cannot see how it fits into the DPI in any importance unfortunately.

Zina got a certificate, so did everyone. That certificate is a run of 3000. There's lots of them. They were standard awards.

I got three one year in school , much to my parents astonishment and my own. I even had to go on the stage to shake the hand of a member of parliament. What I remember most was my mother buying me roll on deodorant and falling in love with the student girl next to me , oh , and being forced to wear a tank top and tie with my hair in a side parting. Ah, memories....
