Most of us know that Teddy is again going to the site if the DPI in search of evidence. Many of us in the forum have asked, hinted and wished she and her independently minded group would pursue some idea we have explored in the forum. In anticipation of her successful expedition, what would you and I hope the labors of the group reveal? Where do we think the search might go?
Although I am strictly in the " weather caused it" camp, I have some interest in the lights in the sky discussion. Specifically, could a meteorite be any part of the mystery? If so, was there Mansi lore, Forester records or actual meteorites found anywhere in the area?
The case files speak to the footprint trail not being continuous. What could have obliterated sections of those prints? Is there a slope capable of slipping enough snow to wipe out those sections of the foot trail?
Much discussion has been generated about the ravine, but I have trouble with its location and it's shape. I have trouble appreciating where the mat and the bodies were when there is no snow around. It is pretty well documented where the bodies and mat were found, but that was in snow. How about in the dry season? I would not suggest anyone actually model the fallen hikers, but some sort of visual references would be nice. Speaking of which, how much trouble would it be to have marked poles for scale so distances and heights could be more accurately talked about.
We are told that in winter only the cedar was capable of producing firewood, yet the group did not bring fire to the ravine, and for all I know, they let the fire die before they did. Is there usable firewood other than cedar ? Are there other cedars? Why would any right minded person make a fire and then move away from it?
Is there any evidence at all that like the Mansi, the DP9 carved anything on a tree ?
What would anyone else hope for in support of their theory?
I believe each member of Teddy's group is spending time and money to chase an idea. Will we know what those ideas are and what their investigations produced?

Poles, mannequins, videos have been produced about the ravine winter and summer for decades.

Firewood is everywhere. Broken branches. No need to climb. This is why it is difficult for me to locate where Dyatlov's camp could have been.
This year I am investigating more of Shura's camps because he always camps in winter near the cedar. On one hand this is bad because I keep finding his junk, but on the other hand he is pinpointing the good clearings in winter for a camp.

In theory, if there are numerous logging or tree-cutting areas, a camp should have been established there for a long time. For an overnight stay, felling one or two trees is enough, but if you were to stay in one place for several months, the logging area would be large, as the searchers had several tents, each requiring heating, plus a fire for cooking and heating water for household needs. But after so many years since the tragedy, the stumps could have rotted...
