Dyatlov Pass. Slobtsov and Axelrod knew the truth! But not the whole truth (March 16, 2024):

-  In 2009, Buyanov co-authored with Slobtsov the book "The Mystery of the Dyatlov Group Accident". Well, in this book they described how the search went. And there is one strange phrase in this book about the storage shed. It says that the storage shed was supposedly made of bags hanging from a tree. But we all know that the storage shed that was found was buried in the snow, and not hanging from a tree.

And here's the question: Why then did Buyanov and Slobtsov write that there was a bag hanging from a tree? What is especially strange is that it was Slobtsov who found that very storage shed in the snow. There are even photographs where Slobtsov is depicted next to the storage shed.

It turns out that Slobtsov knew that the storage shed was buried in the snow, but nevertheless, for some reason, he indicated in the book that the storage shed was hanging on a tree… And how can this be understood?

Protocol Inspection of Storage
"Labaz is located at a group's camp site well hidden packed with fire wood, covered with planks and spruce debris. At the storage one ski is propped in the snow and a torn gaiter is slipped onto it,"

The items were covered, but a ski is propped in the snow. The labaz was easily found. It would be harder to hang items in a tree unless there was rope to pull it up higher. Perhaps there never was intent or effort to raise the supplies. Memory might be at fault.

We don't have to say everything that comes into our head.

I think that Buyanov was the author of the book, he wrote his fantasy there, and Slobtsov was added to the authors of the book for the sake of authorship. At the same time, he did not read everything that was written there.

Assuming that there may be 1.5 meters of snow cover in the Labaz region and assuming that a 1 meter deep hole is dug at the bottom of a large tree trunk and a sack containing food and personal belongings is wrapped around the tree trunk with a 70 cm rope; It is thought that this food was hung on the tree. If the searchers dig more than 1 meter below the tree after noticing the labaz signs, they will see that the bag is hung on the tree 50 cm above the ground. This may be where confusion arises. There is a risk of wild animals dragging an untied sack. They can consume food. A tied sack; A good precaution to protect other personal items.
A real jolt is better than a wrong balance.

I didn't understand the meaning of this tirade of text.
I think that Buyanov tied bags to a tree during his travels, and that's why he attributed the same actions to Dyatlov's group.

I believe Ozi is suggesting that the labaz items may have been tied to a tree trunk , that is the rope would go around the trunk and not hang off the tree or a tree branch .

If the hikers only dug 1 meter into the snow and built the labaz , it could leave 50 cm of snow below the base of the labaz for example . When the searchers then dig out the labaz it could look like it was attached to the tree  or some items were ?.

Osi's suggestion of what might have been is a good example of how we may misinterpretation things that were written.

This is how it could be understood as is asked in the original post in this thread.

I have no idea why you keep posting videos from this man on you tube Axelrod. He seems very aggressive in his replies to people in his comment section , especially when they give answers to his theories, he makes many errors and little sense . He talks about secret bases and his science is poor.

I agree with this person that the storage shed was not tied to a tree.

I don't understand why two people are trying to present the situation as if Slobov was right both during the interrogation and in the book. I don't understand what you are trying to present.
You probably assume that at first the storage shed was tied to a tree, but then meters of snow fell.

I can only assume that the book (any book) is an indisputable authority for you.
I think that Buyanov's book is his work, which he printed at his own expense.
I assure you that Slobov didn't even read the text of his book before it was published.

The ame situation happened with Brezhnev's book. He isn't author of his memoirs. Breznev was too busy for it.

@ Axelrod.

You started this thread! I don't think anyone cares much about this re reporting of the labaz or ropes from a tree. It has no authority and you posted the link of this man and video from YouTube.

No body assumes anything. What are you trying to say.

There is so much talk about this storage shed that I think it worries many people...
Perhaps you are the one who is not worried about the storage shed.

I am passing on the information about the storage shed on ropes from hearsay.
I do not have an electronic text for all editions. I have read this book halfly.
I made 3 pages of report with mistakes in this book.

It is possible that Slobtsov read his book, and in some edition it was corrected.
But it is possible that this is even mentioned in the latest edition.

I led to this information appearing in an article where they refer to Buyanov and the witness Slobtsov.

I wanted to give an example that Slobtsov is a random passerby in this book.

Of course, what is at issue here is not bags and trees. Rather, it is a record of what was cached at the labaz and secondly whether anything was added to or taken from the bag. To the best of my knowledge, there was nothing removed from storage which would help criminals leaving the area toward civilization. Also, there was nothing added to the bag that would mislead investigators. All in all, I must conclude that the labaz and how it was constructed and supplied are peripheral to our main exploration in the forum. Can we agree and move ahead?
We don't have to say everything that comes into our head.

I read 2 messages (in this thread and in the neighboring thread).
I don't understand on what grounds people make such categorical statements about the picture of events.

As for the pit. Today I took chicken (HEN) legs out of the refrigerator. They had been there for several days,
and in order to separate them, I had to wait for some time, and then hit them with a hammer.
The Dyatlov group could have had the same problem. It would probably have been better to carry all this in bags on ropes.
