We can review some of the results from the Prosecutor's preliminary investigation. The documents were immediately bombarded with criticism by the case researchers and experts on the Dyatlov Pass incident. We start with the location of the tent, with which Kuryakov spoke very proudly at the press conference held in the Komsomolskaya Pravda editorial on July 11, 2020.

Russians vigorously disagree with the Prosecutor's results. They have been going to the pass year after year and have pinpointed the location of the tent with certainty. On the photos of the prosecutors the pole with the red flag is positioned very close to the cairn and pin left by Russian researcher KAN marked on the map as TENT. Somehow through calculations the prosecutors managed to put it at a distance of 116 m north.

Kuryakov said that according to the situational and behavioral specialists, after Krivonischneko and Doroshneko died, all of the remaining started off towards the tent. Kolmogorova, Slobodin and Dyatlov backtracked their footprints while Zolotaryov, Dubinina, Kolevatov and Thibeaux-Brignolle had to break trail and didn't go very far.

This helps to prove what a shoddy investigation it was.  Its like a team of investigators was picked to go and concentrate on an 'Avalanche Theory'.  A Theory that has already been proved unlikely by many people and experts on Avalanches.  The question must be WHY ?  Why did the Russian Authorities carry out this sub standard investigation of such an important issue for many Russians including relatives of those who died.

The investigation committee seems confident in their results. Why then were the results made known more than a year after the investigation? If they believed an avalanche caused the tragedy before even starting the investigation, then wouldn't they make the facts fit with their conclusion? If the investigation was intended to give closure to the Dyatlov tragedy, then it failed big time. It's a shame that an international group of experts along with the Russians couldn't conduct a new investigation.
