June 26. Arrive in Ivdel in the morning by train from Yekaterinburg.
We'll board a GAZ-66 (6-7 hours) for lunch at Ilyich's base (a non-residential building in the taiga) and make the two-hour hike to a hut in a cedar forest, 5 km away.
June 27. Hike 15 km over the Chaikonur Pass to a stream in a "drunken" forest.
June 28. Cross the watershed and descend into the crooked forest of the fourth right tributary of the Lozva, below the cedar. Set up base camp. Collect firewood.
June 29. A rest day for those tired. You can rest at the camp.
On this day, we'll climb to the site of the Dyatlov group's tent, to the obelisk. Then, to the summit of Mount Kholat Syakhl (for those not tired).
June 30. The expedition is divided into two groups. The first group, led by Teddy Hadjiyska, remains at base camp for fieldwork near the famous cedar. The second group moves 15 km closer to Mount Otorten. Camping is done without firewood, but with gas.
In bad weather, it can be cold at the higher elevations, in the treeless zone on the ridge. Preparing a hot dinner can be difficult. Be mentally prepared for this.
July 1. On this day, the expedition again splits into two mobile groups. The first group includes those wishing to ascend Mount Otorten. They set off for the summit without tents (5 km), ascend, and can return later that day for an overnight stay. lternatively, they can take down their tents and spend the night near the summit of Otorten.
The second group hikes 15 km. We'll head to a new location, the outliers, to the site of the crash of an unidentified space object (probably a type of rocket). We'll set up base camp.
July 2. Rest day for the tired. We'll explore the surrounding area and the outliers. It was in this very spot three years ago that giant footprints were discovered (photos available). We'll search for the footprints. We'll look for a suitable fragment of the crashed spacecraft to carry.
July 3. We'll return to the third right tributary of the Lozva (Yeti's campsite).
If the weather is good, we'll try to reach our base camp under Mount Kholat Syakhl (30 km) this day.
July 4. This day, we can hike lightly to the Auspiya river valley and explore the new site that was found during the winter expedition that could allegedly be Dyatlov group's labaz.
July 5. Day in reserve to account for bad weather and other unexpected hurdles.
July 6. Day in reserve to account for bad weather and other unexpected hurdles.
July 7. Hike to the "Kedrovnik" hut (20 km).
July 8. Morning hike 5 km to Ilyich's base (not a residential building in the taiga), where a GAZ-66 will be waiting for the drop at 11:00 am. That same evening, board the train in Ivdel to Yekaterinburg.
===================================================
Participation Terms.
At the end of March, I'll buy a ticket for the Ivdel train from Yekaterinburg and share the train and car number in a private chat.
Participants purchase their own train tickets for the same train. After purchasing a ticket, you will be added to the list of participants
to be transported on a pre-booked GAZ-66 (there are only 13 seats).
...
Due to the fact that not everyone who wanted to participate in the 2025 expedition was satisfied with the conditions, and half of the expected participants did not go, there will be two options in 2026:
Option 1.
Similar to the 2025 option. Everyone who has their own equipment, tent, etc., will prepare for the expedition independently,
with their own food pantry, kettle, and fire pit. They will cover their own costs for train tickets and food supplies.
The drop-off and pick-up costs (GAZ-66) are shared based on the actual cost (the cost of the vehicle is divided by the number of people). Everyone carries their own backpacks.
This option is recommended for experienced hikers who have their own gear and understand what to take and how to organize their food,
how to cook their own food in the field over a campfire or gas burner.
Also, for those who have already hiked with us... Or for those who have the money to buy a double-layer tent and all other gear,
to independently understand the nuances of camping in the mountain taiga.
Option 2.
Anyone who doesn't have gear or doesn't want to spend money on it, who doesn't understand food distribution, etc.,
can choose the second option. All gear, except for a backpack, will be rented and provided in Yekaterinburg. Your portion of the food will also be purchased, packaged, brought as luggage to Yekaterinburg, and picked up at the train station on July 27th.
At the station, you will receive 4 kg of food and 3 kg of general gear in your backpack. Train tickets will be purchased in advance, and
a seat in a GAZ-66 for pickup and drop-off will be paid for. You have to send funds for all these activities in advance.
This option is also non-commercial (no profit is made). The costs will be lower than any commercial trip.
However, the cost is not yet known. It depends on prices in the spring of 2026. Option 2 is recommended for beginners in hiking.
