Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation are going to fly to Dyatlov Pass with specialists in Geodesy, Meteorology, Cartography and Geology to test theories 10-20 of March. He gives an explanation for the typo in Tempalov memo.

"Also, the press secretary of the Sverdlovsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, Marina Kanatova, reported that on February 4, at 12:00, representatives of the supervisory authority would hold a big press conference at the Yekaterinburg House of Journalists, where they would show a number of archival materials related to this case and tell more about those studies and examinations, which are planned to be held as part of the ongoing verification of investigative materials. They will also voice their opinion on the versions of the death of the Dyatlov group." They are going to give their explanation for the date on the cover of the case files.

This press conference has nothing to do with Kuntsevich, but I am sure that it was carefully planned not to overlap and at the same time to have all the people in the city for the conference.

Wow, Teddy this is awesome.

I have intuitively felt this anniversary was not going to pass without some type of significant update or announcement.

I have tried to watch the Russian language Youtube videos using the Closed caption translator - choppy at best.

They do tend to go more in depth with better analysis.

I support the murder theory.  I believe the autopsy reports were purposefully edited to remove that suspicion.  From what I've read this is well covered on the Russian internet, similar to being their "Kennedy assassination".

I felt the tent cut from the inside was disinformation.  Change that one aspect and it becomes an attack and a murder investigation.

BTW, whoever staged and altered the crime scene was brilliant!

Interesting set of specialisms there. Not much connection to a murder theory!
More like a connection with the shape of the terrain in high winds perhaps...

Can't say I'm surprised. I didn't expect that anyone would go there to look for evidence for murder after 60 years. Back then, in 1959, when for example there were still group's tracks on the snow... Maybe somebody would notice footsteps, that didn't belong to the group. Right now, what would they find?

Sounds interesting. Geodesy, Meteorology, Cartography and Geology. A chance for something fresh and, of course, some new theories speculations.

Teddy.  Looks like something as stirred the Authorities to act,  AT LAST.  However we need to be cautious. Lets wait and see what transpires when they go to The Pass to carry out   their Investigation, 60 years after the EVENT.  And also what comes out of the Press Conference. Should be very interesting.

He also noted that at the moment, after analyzing the available materials, the prosecutor’s office considers three versions to be priority: “All of them are connected to natural phenomena, crime is completely excluded:

According to Kuntsevich, the documents and evidence found suggest that the group died during the testing of new missile systems. “It happened 1.5 kilometers from the place where they were later found. They were simply cut out of the tent and moved to where they were later found,” Kuntsevich added. He did not disclose all the details, inviting everyone to the conference in Ural Federal University

So he is reaffirming they did not cut the tent themselves, which is what I said....

It will be interesting to hear what he says on Monday.

Doesn't that kind of imply that the whole scene was staged?

Doesn't that kind of imply that the whole scene was staged?

That would include the footprints, the fire, Krivonischenko's burned hand, cut fir trees, the cedar tree being climbed, clothing being cut and transferred, the placement of bodies in three different groups, and other details like flashlights and the camera. If you're going to stage an accident, are you really leaving or placing a camera around Zolotoryov's neck in the ravine? Are you burning someone's hand and cutting away clothing? Why even bother with a fire and placing the bodies in three locations?

That's a lot of staging. There needs to be strong evidence supporting this. More than disagreement about injuries and lights in the sky.

You're right.  If they were removed from the tent, then they must have gone to a lot of detail to stage the scene.

It's the staging of unnecessary detail that makes it less likely. There's no reason to stage climbing a cedar tree, for example. You don't need to place Zina, Igor and Rustem separately several hundred meters from the tree.

Also, what is the evidence in favor of a staging? Are the injuries too inconsistent with the scenario that they left the tent for the woods below? There's a lack of evidence for other people on the mountain that night, unless the staging was done later. But then the search party and investigation didn't notice any evidence either.

Yes.  It does seem incredible.

Before jumping the gun on anything.  Re Teddy's Post and quote  ''This press conference has nothing to do with Kuntsevich, but I am sure that it was carefully planned not to overlap and at the same time to have all the people in the city for the conference.''  So lets wait and see what transpires on Monday 4th February 2019.
