Besides, they were sweating as they climbed the pass.
Here you still need to figure out exactly when the blankets managed to sweat. Or did the wolverine mark by wetting?
By the way, tourists sweat not only when they climb the pass, but also when they ski in deep snow with heavy backpacks. However, no one died in the previous days from damp clothes. I'll even say more. Tourists were sweating not only from the Dyatlov group and not only in 1059. Everyone always sweats and no one has died from it yet.
I gave an example below how the same tourists from UPI in 1958 spent several days in a cave and decided to continue the route at -30 degrees with wet clothes. Nobody even got sick. Give you a link: Do you know how to read Russian?
Hi Зайцев
To let you understand where I sit on the fence, which it is, on the fence. I lean towards Igor B and/or a natural cause.
I copied and pasted Igor b's response for English readers. There are number of reasons why I support Igor B and his Wolverine theory. It does not mean I agree with every detail but for me he has given the most logical , overall explanation. His list is of explanations is quite comprehensive. Igor B leaves little room for manoeuvre in counter arguments. It is a long read but better than I have read anywhere across the internet.
His logic cannot be ignored from the bigoted assumption that a furry rat could not cause such destruction to humans, combined with the cruelness of the weather and anomalies in the testimonies.
When you say, no one died from wet clothes in the previous day's, no one was on the side of a exposed mountain with no option to return to more clothes or shelter. Igor B's theory does not revolve around wet clothes,he only gives a reason for wet blankets in parallel to why it was recorded in testimonies.
To quote you, "I'll even say more" too. No one is saying they died from sweat. Not even Igor B.
I can read Russian through translation , so I am happy for any link. However , people die from hypothermia in far milder conditions . This is not a fantasy, it is the world over and certain conditions add or take away from the ability to survive.
The events at the ravine and ceder are unclear but they do suggest some kind of trouble that resulted in broken ribs and fractures that sweat does not . There is frostbite also. Perhaps if events at the ravine did not result in broken ribs and fractures , none of us here would have ever met. Irrelevant if it had been Wolverine, snow slab , moose or loud bang that made them leave the tent, then yes, wet, cold and miserable they might have survived the night or day to return to their equipment.
Igor B only gives a good indication to why they left the tent , his best work is what happened after. If I read Igor B's thread correctly , he did not decide it was a Wolverine and then make the evidence fit his conclusion ( which is refreshing) . He looked at the evidence, chewed it over, looked at it again from many angles and then concluded it was a Wolverine.
There is a very different approach to others theories that are vague, he says what he means and backs it up. I commend him for his work and his conviction.
Out of interest , what do you think happened? Maybe let us poke holes in your theory ?
